Is there as specified resistor kit that I would need? I have a 2015 gmc Sierra and the headlight are constantly turning completely off. Whether headlight on auto or have switch in on position.

      Hi Michael,
If your headlights are turning off unexpectedly, it might not be due to a resistor issue. It’s important to consider various factors that could be causing this problem with your 2015 GMC Sierra’s headlights. Some common causes of headlight issues include:

      • Faulty Headlight Switch: The switch that controls the headlights might be worn out or defective.
      • Bad Headlight Relay: Relays are electronic components that help control the flow of electricity to the headlights. If a relay is malfunctioning, it can cause the headlights to turn off unexpectedly.
      • Wiring Issues: Loose or corroded wiring can interrupt the electrical flow to the headlights.
      • Faulty Headlight Bulbs or Assemblies: Sometimes, the bulbs themselves or the assemblies they are housed in can be the cause.
      • Problems with the Control Module: Modern vehicles often have control modules that manage various electrical systems. A faulty control module can cause erratic behavior in headlights.
      • Issues with the Light Sensor: If your car has automatic headlights that turn on when it gets dark, the sensor that controls this feature might be malfunctioning.

Before purchasing any parts or kits, it is advisable to diagnose the exact cause of the problem. You might want to consult a mechanic or someone experienced with automotive electrical systems. If it turns out that a resistor is needed to address the issue (which would be relatively uncommon for this sort of problem), the mechanic or auto parts store should be able to advise you on the specific type and rating of resistor required for your vehicle.
